‘The Very Idea of a University: Aristotle, Newman and Us’, by Alasdair MacIntyre.

Alasdair MacIntyre gave a special lecture in Oxford in 2009 which identified many of the problems of the modern, ‘successful’ research university. He did so by employing arguments articulated by John Henry Newman in his Idea of a University. His lecture, entitled ‘The very idea of a university: Aristotle, Newman and us’, can be found by clicking here.
